B’s Blog Bread Sticks

These are really fun to make.
You need to make sure you have an adult to help you with the oven – to keep safe.
Sometimes I put jam and Nutella in the middle and they are super yummy!

INGREDIENTS
1 packet savoury pastry
Pesto
Pancetta – optional
Baking paper

METHOD
Pre-heat oven to 180° C.
Place one pastry sheet onto some baking paper and spread a generous amount of pesto over it. Add pancetta and place another pastry sheet over the top. Press down.
Cut pastry into strips and twist from each end. Place on the baking paper and bake for 20 minutes or until the pastry is nice and golden.

Make your own pastry

INGREDIENTS
2 ½ cups Edmonds standard flour
¼ tsp salt
150g butter
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
Cold water

METHOD
Sift the flour and salt together and place into a blender. Add butter and blend until the mixture has the texture of coarse breadcrumbs. Mix in the parmesan cheese, then add a little water and blend until the dough forms a ball.
Wrap in greaseproof paper and chill for 30 minutes before using.
